What a day!
After Ruhmel upset Yount in a tight neck and neck foursome with Wes Yocum and Denny Barr also dueling it out, things just started to heat up. Bennett capitalized on Young's mistake to pull off our second opening round upset, while top seeds Yount and favorite Beckwith exited early.
Spence dominated with long twisting drives throughout the day while the strong tomahawk of Ondush carved up many competitors. Rojas and Buck fought hard as the Yocum brothers, McIlhaney and Hartz continued to make noise taking out top competitors.
Denny Barr dominated the field late in the tourney but soon ran out of gas while facing the long arm of Zach Rex.
Ernst stayed true to form warding off a 69ft. tomahawk hole winner from Jesse Young to clinch his quarterfinal birth while Ondush fell in the next round on hole six to Barr.
So many long shots were made today, one could never predict who was next in line to dazzle the crowd. All in all it was a great tourney which found the heart of many competitors.

great weekend of playing, as well as season of playing. the summer is long, and i will try to get something together about 1 time a month for us to keep contact until Discstars 2010 comes around. Can't wait and hope to catch the little bastard who ran off with my flic...crushed my round on the backside...I think he was paid off by someone..lol
i should be available this saturday on june 13th. i can always try to set up a round at my buddies course.
this week will be bad for me due to graduations of nephews and nieces...the week after is my birthday, as well as fathers day, so I wiLLLLLLLLL be playing both days...gunkel, let me know if that saturday works for you in the morning, cause sunday I am playing lehigh parkway with wife and kid walking along...

alright i will just post here whenever i plan on throwing on the weekend but i am going to canada to play disc golf near the end of this month but i dont quite remember what the exact days are.

Gunkel whooped up on me at the parkway. However, neither of us played to are full potential.
I am gonna let ya'll know about getting out saturday morning...i want to play lehigh parkway if I can get out...i will send a personlized email to le ya'll know mid week
zach , at least we were highly entertained on hole # 8 when that guy had a meltdown after a bad shot and kicked and threw his golf bag and started yelling . Meltdowns like that are rare but when they happen they are funny to watch.
gunkel, sorry i couldn't make it out... i already committed to the wifey that I wasn't playing, but I will be out tomorrow, as well as Saturday...but early saturday
